SNOWY SUNDAY FUN

Snow caps for our owl lawn ornaments.
Last weekend was Toronto's first real taste of wintry weather this season. Thankful that the bitter cold, high winds and snow arrived on a weekend when we didn't have to work, our vehicle didn't leave the driveway.

We mostly enjoyed the weather from inside the house. The cats enjoyed having us inside with them for most of the weekend and provided entertainment when they weren't napping. As always, the view from the kitchen window into our backyard provides nature TV, as Rob kept the feeders well stocked for the birds, and provided some goodies for the squirrels.

All in all, we had an enjoyable weekend. Marvel movies were watched, hot chocolate was drank and snow angels were made.

Woke up Sunday to a winter wonderland in the backyard.
This Coopers Hawk enjoyed our backyard and a couple Pigeons over the weekend.
You're never too old to make a snow angel!
All done.
Hmmm.....
I just need help getting up now! LOL!!!

15 YEARS TOGETHER AND OTHER MILESTONES & EVENTS IN 2019

Our first picture together, May 2004.
2019 marks a lot of milestones for me, as well as some great adventures. The first milestone of the year arrives today, January 17th, 2019, it is 15 years ago that I met Rob for a coffee date. I'm not going to go into all the mushy details, but we must of hit it off, as coffee turned into dinner, and dinner turned into a movie, all on the same day! We've been together ever since. We moved in together after almost 5 years of dating and have been married 6 years now. I look forward to many more years with my long haired hottie.

Another milestone for Rob and I this year, is that we both turn the big 50! My birthday is in June, and his in September, but we have planned something in March to commemorate our birthdays. We are heading to Las Vegas for 4 nights and 5 days. It's Rob's first time going and only my second visit. It won't be your typical gambling/big show trip, what we're really looking forward to is going birding! On recommendation we have hired Bird Las Vegas to take us out for a full day.

March also marks 30 years of my move to Toronto from Nova Scotia. I still remember the 25hr train ride here with my friend, and stepping out onto Front Street from Union station, my head tilted back and I looked straight up, I had never seen buildings so tall. Toronto has been good to me and I have a good life here. I've made a family out of friends, and discovered some family I didn't know I had. You can read about that here.
I arrived in Toronto a skinny, big-haired Rocker Chick! (1990)
May is all about the birds, and we have plans again to visit the Port Rowan area with friends.

Something special is going to happen in June besides me turning 50, Heimlich should emerge from his cocoon! If you aren't aware who Heimlich is, he's a caterpillar we raised who will emerge as a Cecropia Moth. We can't wait to see him (or her) when the time arrives!

The majority of the summer will be spent, as per usual, enjoying the weekends in our backyard. But we do have a couple events to look forward to in August. WWE's second biggest event of the year, SummerSlam is coming to Toronto, and Rob and I will be going! The schedule of events hasn't been released yet, but we do plan to attend a couple events during SummerSlam week. Fan Expo is also taking place in August this year and we also intend to make a long weekend out of that event, as it's been a few years since we attended.

September brings another week of vacation and Rob finally catches up to me in age again.

October is super exciting for me, as I finally return to my favorite place on the planet, Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. It's been 5 years since my last visit, and I can't wait. This time my friend and I are doing it like Queens, 7 nights deluxe accommodations at Disney's Wilderness Lodge with the deluxe dining plan, followed by 3 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal. I fly back just in time to enjoy Halloween with Rob.

I look forward to seeing my Disney pals again, like Goofy! ( Pic 2012)
November brings our 7th wedding anniversary and I always enjoy all the gatherings and festivities of the month of December. We may even introduce Merry and Molly to their first large Christmas tree.

It's going to be a great year!
