GOODBYE JANUARY

January is my least favorite month of the year, and I am always glad when it comes to an end. I suffer from what I call the "After Christmas Blues",  and it's a dark, cold, and just blah kind of month.

This month I was also dealing with a wonky ankle that kept me pretty much home bound the first couple weekends. Thankfully, we joined the land of Netflix earlier this month, so watching "Stranger Things" kept me pretty entertained.

Fancy K-tape work by my physiotherapist.
Last weekend was the first time I was actually able to really enjoy a weekend all month. A girlfriend came over on Friday night and we watched a movie and had take-out. I'd also been waiting to try a Xmas gift I received from my niece, Ashlee. Harry Potter tea! I didn't want to try it alone.

We tried the Butter Beer, delicious!
Having had Butterbeer at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I wasn't sure what to expect with this tea. It was pretty good, and it definitely had that "butter beer" taste, though you need to add milk and a little sugar to get the sweetness of Butterbeer. Looking forward to trying the Hufflepuff (my house) Brew.

With my ankle feeling better, I was finally able to get out for a short nature walk with Rob this past Sunday.

Female Eastern Towhee
Eastern Towhee's aren't really normal to be seen around here this time of year, but this one has been around for a while, and I was happy to see her. She's a reminder that Spring is coming with all is beauty, and I can't wait.

52 WEEK MONEY CHALLENGE

It's that time of year again! Rob and I have done the "52 Week Money Challenge"for the past few years now, and always use it to help pay for some vacation fun.

We had to throw in the towel last year when Rob fell off the roof and was off work for close to two months, but we're gung-ho to start again this year.

We're doing it a little different this time around to make it more in tune with our budget and pay schedules. We're starting with the most expensive week first , and then going to week one. Then it will be week 51, then 2. then 50, then 3, and so on. Doing it this way makes it a little easier on the wallet monthly, but the end result is the same.

At the end of the year we will have $1378.00 to put towards a big vacation we are planning in 2019 when we both turn the BIG 50!

Wishing you all a great 2018!
