We started planning our winter trip up to Algonquin Park right after our first trip there in November, as we enjoyed it so much. This time we decided to stay the night and make a weekend of it to celebrate our 7 years of being a couple.
The visitor centre wasn't open when we were there in November on a weekday, so we were anxious to see what was there. It hosts displays, an information centre, large gift shop and a cafe. It also has a large balcony where you can see miles and miles of the park, it's a stunning view! People have seen Moose, Wolves and Bears from that balcony. We were just happy to watch the birds coming to feed at the feeders they have placed close to the balcony.

After spending some time at the Visitor Centre, we decided to hit one of the many trails in the park to see what we could see.

After spending the day at the park we drove back to Huntsville to our bed and breakfast for the night, Algonquin Mists. We went for a delicious dinner at "The Norsemen" which was very close to the B & B. I would recommend both, and would visit again.
After breakfast we headed to Gravenhurst to visit the Muskoka Wildlife Centre. This is one of our favorite organizations and places to visit, a must for nature nuts like ourselves. We plan on visiting quite regularly.

We had a great weekend in the Muskoka region and look forward to returning in the Spring.

You guys definitely should invest in some snowshoes.
Looks like fun! It must have been cool to have fed the Chickadee by hand.
