EASTER 2020

Our backyard bunny whom I named "Easter".
This is the sixth week I've been working from home and practicing physical distancing. I remember when we were told that non-essential businesses would be closing, and we were asked to only go out for work, groceries and medical appointments. Our world seemed to go topsy turvy in a matter of hours, or so it felt. The first two things I thought of when I knew things we're about to change were our pets and Easter. I remember calling Rob and finding out what our pets had on hand and making arrangements to get them extra food in case it was needed. Then I thought about Easter.

When I am dealing with stress, I find something to focus on, that's just what I do. So I focused all my attention on the upcoming Easter holiday. When I was growing up we didn't have a lot money, we didn't get "stuff" all the time, and we rarely ate out. But my Mom always made our birthdays and the holidays special, and I've carried that tradition on all through my adult life. I may be 50 years old, but the Easter Bunny and Santa always make stops at my home.

The Easter Bunny was very good to us!
Our half turkey! Also had mashed potatoes and carrots.
I have to give a shout out to "Gourmeats", a local butcher. They've been extremely helpful in these difficult times, and I loved their idea of selling half turkeys this year. I plan on giving them a lot more of my business going forward.

Easter Surprise from Cousin Andi left on the porch.
No physically distancing required on our once a week nature walk.
With Easter over, I've needed something else to focus on, migration is about to ramp up! We are looking forward to seeing what birds show up in our backyard. The hummingbird and Baltimore Oriole feeders are out, and now we wait.

Sigh ... we are absolutely desperate for spring here. Still over 2 feet of snow on the ground and temps still hitting nearly -20 at night. I'm so sick of white! I need some green ..... and some dirt! Yup, I'm a little jealous of your nature walk. :)
